It's easy to see how a P100 with 32MB of RAM can find itself providing WWW, E-Mail, and file services....

That headline used to begin this section where we sing the praises of recycling hardware. It is however, no longer true.

"Slarti" was upgraded some time ago when we finally had to upgrade desktops, as always, to run Id's latest offering. He's now a PII-450 with 128MB. Slightly underpowered before, now he's got more than enough cycles for his light workload. And still as reliable as ever...

What does remain true though is the idea that recycling hardware is a good idea, and that you don't have to upgrade everytime Redmond releases their latest virus.
